Setting and Tone
I know we haven’t come up with a name for our world just yet.
For the tone of the campaign, I have primarily drawn inspiration from Mark Smylie’s Artesia, Kentaro Miura’s Berserk, CD Projekt RED’s Witcher franchise, Kobold Press’ Midgard Campaign Setting, classic Gygaxian Dungeons and Dragons, and maybe a little of From Software’s Dark Souls. And by inspiration, I mean flagrantly plagiarized.
For a more general sense of the aesthetic, socio-political environment, and technology, take note of Central and Western Europe from the 15th through the early 16th centuries.
This said, players who recognize these sources should beware: you will be challenged here.
